What we collect from visitors
Nothing personal. Secondhand Markets has no user accounts and does not track visitors — no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are in use. We do not build profiles of the people who read the site. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this page to describe them before doing so.
What we collect from eBay
The site is built on active-listing market datafrom eBay's public Browse API. We collect listing-level data (such as asking price, condition, and category) to compute daily category statistics. We do not collect, request, parse, or store any eBay user or seller personal information— seller fields are deliberately excluded from collection. This is consistent with eBay's Privacy Notice.
Raw listing data is held under a three-tier retention policy:
- Raw listing data — up to 24 hours. The only data with listing details (titles, images, links) is deleted by an automated daily purge.
- Working aggregates — 90 days. Per-market daily counts, with no listing-level rows.
- Derived statistics — retained indefinitely. Only category-level statistics (medians, counts, and the like) — nothing that identifies a listing or a person.
Affiliate disclosure
Links to eBay are affiliate links; we may earn commissions through the eBay Partner Network when you click through and make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay or the statistics we publish.
